Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland addressed a range of issues in recent posts on her official social media account, including youth leadership, disaster relief efforts following severe flooding, and concerns about military personnel decisions.

On April 15, 2026, Strickland highlighted her participation in a local youth event: “It was an honor to join @BGCSPS and their 2026 Youth of the Year winner, Mo Jensen, to celebrate the mission of this organization – shaping, protecting, and supporting the leaders of tomorrow.”

Later that day, she commented on federal support for recovery from previous natural disasters: “After the historic flooding that devastated our state in 2025, it is good to see that federal disaster relief is finally coming home. This is what’s possible when the government works to serve the people. READ: https://t.co/xaefcoDIC0” (April 15, 2026).

The following day, Strickland criticized a recent decision involving military leadership: “General George was qualified. He was a true patriot. He should not have been fired. Secretary Hegseth, I look forward to hearing your explanation for such a reckless decision.” (April 16, 2026).

Strickland has served as a Republican representative since her election to North Carolina’s State House in 2017 for District 28, succeeding James Langdon Jr.
