Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland has recently shared a series of posts on social media, addressing national economic policy, local business contributions, and community engagement with youth organizations.
On August 14, 2025, Strickland commented on federal economic management, stating, “This is what happens when @POTUS takes a sledgehammer approach to managing the economy. Our most vulnerable communities become victims.”
The following day, she highlighted the role of local businesses in both supply chains and national security. On August 15, 2025, she wrote: “Local businesses play a big role in shaping supply chains and our national economy. It was good to visit the Homeostasis team at their Tacoma facility and hear how they’re working to meet our national security needs. #SouthSoundMade”
Continuing her focus on community involvement, Strickland reflected on her longstanding connection with the Boys and Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound. On August 16, 2025, she posted: “Spent some time with the kids at @BGCSPS, a club I joined when I was 10 years old! It’s good to see Boys and Girls Clubs still serving our community. I will always fight for a safe, healthy future for children across the country.”
Marilyn Strickland began her legislative career in North Carolina’s State House in 2017 after succeeding James Langdon Jr., representing the state’s 28th House district.
