The Carolina Hurricanes are set to face the Boston Bruins on April 5, 2025, with Frederik Andersen aiming for his eighth consecutive win. Known as “Zilla,” Andersen has been impressive in his last eight games, allowing two goals or fewer since March 1, achieving a .940 save percentage during that time — the best in the NHL for goalies with a minimum of six games played.

Against the Boston Bruins, Andersen’s track record indicates a 16-4-1 record with a .935 save percentage in 21 career games. The Hurricanes will be without Jordan Staal, dealing with a lower-body injury, and Andrei Svechnikov, out with an undisclosed injury. This leaves the forward lineup unchanged, while the decision on whether Dmitry Orlov will play remains pending. Coach Rod Brind’Amour is expected to address this question either during his media session or in the warmups at TD Garden.

Betting odds from Fanatics Sportsbook place the Hurricanes as favorites at -250. The team’s projected lineup includes forwards Jarvis, Aho, Blake, Hall, Roslovic, Robinson, Martinook, Kotkaniemi, Stankoven, Jost, Jankowski, and Robidas. Defense comprises Slavin, Burns, Walker, Chatfield, Gostisbehere, Morrow, and possibly Orlov. Andersen is set to start as goalie with Kochetkov as his backup.

The Hurricanes also have injuries impacting players like William Carrier, who has a lower-body injury and is expected to be out for a few months as of January 24, and Jesper Fast, out for the 2024-25 season with a neck injury. Jordan Staal is day-to-day as of April 1, while Andrei Svechnikov’s return timetable remains unspecified from April 3.

PP1 will consist of Aho, Blake, Hall, and Jarvis with Gostisbehere, while PP2 will see Kotkaniemi, Roslovic, and Stankoven with Burns and Walker. The game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the TD Garden in Boston.
