The Carolina Hurricanes have set their sights on a second straight victory against the New Jersey Devils in their playoff series. After an assertive win in Game 1, the Hurricanes aim to build on this lead before the series moves to New Jersey.

The series opener saw Logan Stankoven score twice, marking a significant moment for the rookie who achieved his second career multi-goal playoff game. His performance aligned him with Andrei Svechnikov, as only the second player in franchise history to net two goals in his first postseason game for the Hurricanes.

Jaccob Slavin will play his 73rd career postseason game, surpassing Rod Brind’Amour for the third-most playoff appearances in franchise history. In Game 1, Slavin’s assist made him the second player in franchise history to record 30 playoff assists, alongside Sebastian Aho.

Goaltender Frederik Andersen played a central role in the Game 1 win, making 23 saves. Coach Rod Brind’Amour has not yet revealed his rotation strategy for goaltenders Frederik Andersen and Pyotr Kochetkov ahead of Game 2.

The New Jersey Devils experienced injuries in Game 1. Luke Hughes returned to play, Brenden Dillon’s exit was precautionary, while there’s no update on Cody Glass, who left the game following a collision. Nico Hischier scored the Devils’ sole goal in the opener.

The Hurricanes continue their playoff campaign in home black uniforms, planning practices before heading to New Jersey for Game 3 scheduled for Friday. Fans are encouraged to stay updated by texting “PLAYOFFS25” to receive the latest information.
