On August 13, 2025, Campbell publicly celebrated a close associate’s birthday, stating: “Happy Birthday to my buddy, fellow football fanatic, and valued campaign advisor Grant Watson! I have literally known you since before you were born. On August 14, 2025, Campbell announced his recent appointment by Speaker Tim Moore to a state task force focused on child welfare issues. Campbell was elected in 2025 as a Republican representative for North Carolina’s 83rd House district after succeeding Kevin Crutchfield.
