Governor Josh Stein has appointed Tron Ross to the District Court for Judicial District 29, which serves Hoke and Moore Counties. This appointment fills the vacancy created when the Hon. Warren McSweeney was elected to the Superior Court.

Tron Ross previously held the position of Associate County Attorney at the Moore County Attorney’s Office. Her past experience also includes work as an attorney at the Lee County Department of Social Services. Ross earned her Bachelor of Social Work (B.S.W.) from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and her Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Governor Stein stated, “Tron has a strong record of serving North Carolina’s children and families. As an experienced Moore County attorney, she is the right person for the job, and I look forward to her service as judge.”
