Governor Josh Stein has appointed Matthew Cabe to the District Court for Judicial District 36, which includes Burke, Caldwell, and Catawba Counties. This appointment fills the vacancy left by Judge Sherri Elliott’s move to the Superior Court.

“Matt has more than two decades of experience as an attorney in the 36th District, and I am proud to appoint him to the District Court,” said Governor Josh Stein. “As a Morganton native and an experienced litigator, he is the right person for the job, and I look forward to his service.”

Matthew Cabe has been practicing law most recently as a solo practitioner at the Cabe Law Firm in Morganton, North Carolina. Before this role, he worked at the Law Office of Bob Ledford. Cabe holds both his B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
