Governor Josh Stein has announced the appointment of Lisa Johnson-Tonkins to the Superior Court for Judicial District 24A, covering part of Guilford County. Johnson-Tonkins succeeds the Honorable Lora Cubbage, who retired from the position.

Lisa Johnson-Tonkins previously held the role of elected clerk of the Superior Court for Guilford County. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts from North Carolina A&T and a Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University School of Law.

Governor Stein affirmed, “Lisa has served Guilford County faithfully for over a decade. Her judgement and experience are invaluable, and I look forward to her service on the bench.”
