Erin Paré, a Republican member of the North Carolina State House representing the 37th district since 2021, recently addressed issues related to education funding in North Carolina through a series of posts on her social media account.
On August 23, 2025, Paré outlined the focus of her concern by stating, “The problem we’re trying to solve. #ncpol”. She included links in her post referencing further details about the issue.
Later that day, she elaborated on state and local contributions to per pupil funding in North Carolina. On August 23, 2025, Paré posted: “Note: State % of per pupil funding in NC exceeds the national average. Per pupil funding in NC trails the national average due in larger part to a significantly lower portion of local % vs the national average.”
She reiterated this point on August 24, 2025: “State % of per pupil funding in NC exceeds the national average. Per pupil funding in NC trails the national average due in larger part to a significantly lower portion of local % vs the national average. #ncpol”
Paré has served as a state representative since winning election to replace Sydney Batch in 2021. Her recent statements come amid ongoing discussions about education budgets and how state and local governments allocate resources for public schools.
