Erin Paré, a Republican elected to the North Carolina State House in 2021 to represent the state’s 37th House district, used her Twitter account in early January 2026 to comment on crime and public safety policies.

On January 4, Paré posted about a violent incident involving a repeat offender: “Another horrific tragedy committed by a career criminal with 20 prior arrests and mental competency problems. He even broke out of prison once. Now a beloved science teacher has been brutally murdered by this animal who should have never been allowed on the street. Let this be”.

Two days later, on January 6, she expressed support for her party’s approach to governance: “Republican policies work! https://t.co/xGQAlm212x”.

Later that day, Paré addressed the issue of mental health treatment versus incarceration for dangerous individuals: “Governor, yes mental health treatment is important, but dangerous people need to be behind bars and off the street. Democrat judges in liberal cities seem to disagree. #ncpol https://t.co/BKpplEbFqC”.

Paré succeeded Sydney Batch as representative of North Carolina’s 37th House district after her election in 2021.
