Congresswoman Deborah Ross from North Carolina recently communicated her viewpoints and engagements through a series of tweets addressing various legislative and community issues. Ross, who has been representing North Carolina’s 2nd district since 2021, has made her positions clear through her social media platform, particularly on issues concerning victim protection, independent education, and government spending.
On March 26, 2025, Ross expressed her disappointment in a post after her amendment intended to protect domestic violence survivors was rejected during a House Judiciary hearing. She criticized the decision with a focus on victim protection, stating, “Republicans refused to adopt my amendment that would protect domestic violence survivors during a @HouseJudiciary hearing. We should be more focused on protecting victims, not enabling abusers.”
Later that day, Ross tweeted about an interaction with leaders of local independent colleges, where she discussed her dedication to supporting these institutions. She reaffirmed her commitment to education in Wake County, stating, “Great meeting with local independent college leaders. I am committed to supporting Wake County’s fantastic independent colleges — institutions committed to educating our next generation of bright minds and innovative leaders.”
On March 27, 2025, Ross addressed the use of tax dollars with a focus on financial governance and healthcare. She shared her concerns about using public funds for those involved in the January 6th events, alleging a misallocation of resources that threatens children’s health care, quoting, “He’s talking about using tax dollars to give handouts to people who assaulted cops on January 6. They plan to take away children’s health care, but Trump wants to enrich his cronies.”
