Coriolis Pharma has announced a significant investment of $10 million to establish a research laboratory in Morrisville, North Carolina. This move is expected to create 50 jobs and marks the company’s first U.S. facility. Founded in Martinsried, Germany, Coriolis Pharma specializes in formulation research and development services for biologics.
Silvia Steyrer-Gruber, Chief Executive Officer of Coriolis Pharma, stated that the new lab represents “a significant milestone” for the company. She emphasized the importance of being closer to their North American clients and highlighted North Carolina’s biotechnology ecosystem as a decisive factor in choosing Morrisville.
The announcement was made jointly with the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce. Susan Evans, Chair of the Wake County Board of Commissioners, expressed enthusiasm about welcoming Coriolis to Wake County, citing it as a top destination for life sciences companies.
T.J. Cawley, Mayor of Morrisville, also welcomed Coriolis Pharma to the town’s Spark Campus. He noted that this decision reflects strategic efforts to attract life sciences investments and reinforces Morrisville’s position as an emerging hub for biotech leaders.
Economic Development Director Tiffany McNeill added that this investment aligns with Morrisville’s strategic goals and highlights its prime location and talented workforce.
The Triangle region is home to over 650 life science operations and continues to be a global hub for industry growth. Coriolis Pharma aims to leverage this environment by offering high-quality services for biopharmaceuticals at its new facility.
