Coriolis Pharma, a company specializing in formulation research and development for biologics, has announced its plan to invest $10 million in Morrisville, North Carolina. This investment will establish a new research laboratory and create 50 jobs.

The company, originally founded in Martinsried, Germany, is known for its drug product development and manufacturing services. Coriolis Pharma aims to support various biological therapeutic modalities by providing platform-based and custom solutions from early development through commercialization.

Silvia Steyrer-Gruber, CEO of Coriolis Pharma, commented on the decision: “The investment in a new lab in Morrisville is a significant milestone for Coriolis. With our future presence in North Carolina, we will be able to serve our North American clients even better, offering our core services quickly and efficiently on site.” She highlighted the scientific compatibility with North Carolina’s biotechnology ecosystem as a key factor in choosing the location.

In 2024, Coriolis expanded its operations into the U.S., marking the launch of its accelerator platform services designed to expedite products from early-stage research to phase I clinical readiness.

Wake County Board of Commissioners Chair Susan Evans expressed her enthusiasm: “We warmly welcome Coriolis to Wake County – the premiere destination for life sciences companies from across the country and around the world.”

Morrisville was selected for Coriolis’ first U.S. facility due to its strategic location and business-friendly environment. T.J. Cawley, Mayor of Morrisville, stated: “This milestone reflects years of strategic work to attract life sciences investment to our town.”

Tiffany McNeill, Economic Development Director for Morrisville, emphasized the alignment with their strategic efforts: “This investment aligns with our strategic efforts to attract innovative companies.”

The Triangle region hosts over 650 life science operations and is recognized as a global hub for this industry. The announcement involved collaboration among several partners including The Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina and Wake County Economic Development.

Coriolis Pharma provides high-quality services for biopharmaceuticals with expertise in formulation development and innovative analytical methods.
