On May 16, Congresswoman Strickland marked the conclusion of National Police Week by emphasizing the significance of honoring law enforcement officers. She stated: “As #NationalPoliceWeek comes to an end, we remember to honor the officers who have sacrificed to keep us safe.” She further noted that “A strong relationship with law enforcement is critical to the success and safety of a community,” urging continuous efforts to strengthen these ties.
The following day, May 17, she acknowledged Armed Forces Day by expressing gratitude towards servicemembers stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) and nationwide. In her tweet she wrote: “On #ArmedForcesDay we recognize the brave servicemembers who protect our nation at @JBLM_PAO and across the country.” She thanked them for their patriotism and sacrifice.
Later on May 17, Congresswoman Strickland turned her attention to Heritage Month by recognizing Fil Beth Davis, a family nurse practitioner at Sea Mar Community Health Centers in Yelm. Her tweet read: “This Heritage Month I’m recognizing Fil Beth Davis, family nurse practitioner for @SeaMarCHC-Yelm.” She praised medical practitioners as pillars in communities across South Sound and expressed appreciation for Davis’ service in helping countless families.
