Congresswoman Deborah Ross, representing North Carolina’s 2nd district, recently voiced her concerns through social media regarding various issues affecting her constituents and the broader community. A member of the U.S. Congress since 2021, Ross has been active in advocating for veterans’ rights, economic relief for families, and local community events.

On April 4, 2025, Ross shared her concerns about the firing of staff members who assist low-income families in paying their utility bills. “Trump fired the entire staff that helps low-income families pay their heating and cooling bills, including hundreds of thousands of North Carolinians,” she noted, urging for a reduction in costs rather than an increase.

Later that day, Ross addressed an issue concerning recognition for military veterans, expressing her dissatisfaction with the Pentagon’s actions. “The Pentagon’s erasure of Millie Dunn Veasey & the 6888 Central Postal Directory Battalion from some military websites is an affront to the service and sacrifice of all veterans,” Ross remarked, stating that she had sent a letter calling for their immediate restoration.

Ross also offered tips for local Raleigh residents attending the weekend Dreamville festival. “If you’re in Raleigh and heading out to Dreamville this weekend, consider taking a GoRaleigh bus to Dorothea Dix Park for just $2.50.” she suggested, encouraging attendees to enjoy the event.
