The Carolina Hurricanes are set to face the Florida Panthers in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals, with Frederik Andersen returning as their starting goaltender. The decision comes after head coach Rod Brind’Amour opted for Pyotr Kochetkov in Game 3. Andersen, who had been a standout performer in the Stanley Cup Playoffs with a 1.36 goals against average and a .937 save percentage over nine games, is back in net following a brief pause.

Brind’Amour explained his decision, saying, “He’s been great for us all year. He had a nice couple of days off, so it makes sense.” The team is dealing with injuries to Jalen Chatfield and Sean Walker, both considered doubtful for the game due to undisclosed issues. As a result, Scott Morrow and Alexander Nikishin are expected to fill their spots once again.

Nikishin showed improvement during Game 3, which Brind’Amour noted positively: “I was really proud of how, from one game to the next, the change was something to like. We’ve got a good one there.”

The projected lineup for tonight’s game includes forwards Hall – Aho – Jarvis on the top line and Svechnikov – Kotkaniemi – Blake on the second line. On defense, Slavin pairs with Burns while Orlov teams up with Nikishin. Andersen will start as goaltender with Kochetkov as backup.

Carolina faces significant challenges as they try to extend their season against Florida. The betting odds provided by Fanatics Sportsbook list the Hurricanes at +155.

Injury concerns persist with Jesper Fast out for the season due to a neck injury and Chatfield and Walker listed day-to-day.
