Eric Tulsky, the General Manager of the Carolina Hurricanes, announced that Eric Robinson has agreed to a four-year contract extension with the team. The contract ensures Robinson will receive an average annual value of $1.7 million through the 2028-29 season.
Tulsky expressed satisfaction with Robinson’s performance, stating, “It’s no surprise to us that Eric had his best professional season last year with Carolina. His size and speed make him an excellent fit for the way we want to play, and we are thrilled that he’s chosen to remain a Hurricane.”
Robinson, who is 30 years old, achieved personal records in various categories during the regular season with 32 points (14 goals and 18 assists) over 82 games. He also contributed three points (one goal and two assists) in 15 playoff games. Over his NHL career, which includes time with the Blue Jackets and Sabres before joining the Hurricanes, Robinson has accumulated 123 points (54 goals and 69 assists) in 388 games. Additionally, he has four points (two goals and two assists) from playoff appearances.
Before entering professional hockey, Robinson played at Princeton University from 2014 to 2018 where he earned 67 points (39 goals and 28 assists). He captained the Tigers in his senior year. He also spent a season in the USHL with Dubuque in 2013-14.
