The Carolina Hurricanes will play the Florida Panthers on Tuesday without Seth Jarvis, Jordan Martinook, and Jaccob Slavin. Head coach Rod Brind’Amour confirmed that Jarvis and Slavin would not be available, and also ruled out Martinook, who left last Wednesday’s game in Nashville with a lower-body injury.

William Carrier missed Monday’s practice due to illness and did not participate in the morning skate. His status for tonight’s game will be determined at game time. If Carrier is unable to play, the Hurricanes may use 11 forwards and seven defensemen.

Joel Nystrom, recently reassigned to the Chicago Wolves, is expected to return to the lineup alongside Alexander Nikishin.

Goaltender Frederik Andersen will start for the first time since December 4. Andersen has struggled recently, recording an 0-4-2 record over his last six games. Despite this stretch, he remains positive about his performance.

“The way I look at it, I’ve played better hockey, and I’ve had worse numbers,” Andersen said after his most recent outing. “It doesn’t look good, obviously. We’re not getting the wins with me in the net lately, but I still feel like I’ve got my game. Maybe not perfectly where I want it, but like I’ve said, I’ve had worse stretches where things have looked better, and I’ve gotten more wins. That’s how I look at it. I try to be positive and move on.”

The projected lineup includes forwards Svechnikov-Aho-Blake; Ehlers-Stankoven-Hall; Carrier*-Staal-Robinson; Kotkaniemi-Jankowski-Nadeau. Defense pairs are Miller-Walker; Gostisbehere-Chatfield; Nikishin-Nystrom; Reilly*. Andersen is listed as starting goaltender.

Injury updates include Seth Jarvis (upper-body injury), Charles Alexis Legault (hand injury), Jordan Martinook (lower-body), and Jaccob Slavin (upper-body injury).

The Carolina Hurricanes play their home games at Lenovo Center in Raleigh, North Carolina according to official venue information. The arena can accommodate up to 20,000 people and hosts more than 150 events each year. The team contributes over $200 million annually to the local economy through its events and community engagement efforts as reported by their official website.

Since beginning operations in Raleigh in 1997 after relocating from Hartford according to their official site, the Hurricanes have provided professional ice hockey entertainment and related events. The organization won its first Stanley Cup in 2006 as noted on their Hall of Fame page.

The puck drops at 7:00 p.m.
