The Carolina Hurricanes will begin a four-game road trip with a game against the Boston Bruins on Monday. The matchup is set for 7:00 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on FanDuel Sports Network South and the FanDuel Sports Network App. Fans can also listen to the game on 99.9 The Fan and through the Hurricanes App.

The Hurricanes currently hold a 12-5-1 record, placing them second in the Metropolitan Division with 24 points. In their most recent outing, they lost 4-3 in overtime to the Edmonton Oilers. During that game, Eric Robinson marked his 400th career appearance by scoring a goal, while Jackson Blake, Nikolaj Ehlers, and Shayne Gostisbehere extended their respective point streaks.

Shayne Gostisbehere has been notable for leading Carolina’s defensemen in points (12) and sharing the team lead in assists (11), despite playing only nine of the team’s 18 games so far this season. Since returning from injury on November 11, he has contributed five assists over three consecutive games with points. Across the league, his average of 1.33 points per game leads all defensemen.

Goaltending duties have recently rotated among Frederik Andersen, Brandon Bussi, and Pyotr Kochetkov following their return to health. While it was expected that Bussi would start last Saturday’s match against Edmonton, Andersen instead took the net for consecutive starts. Either Bussi or Kochetkov is expected to start against Boston.

Boston enters Monday’s contest atop the Atlantic Division with a record of 12-8-0 and also holds 24 points after defeating Montreal Canadiens 3-2 in their last match. The Bruins have won eight of their past nine games, including a previous win over Carolina earlier this month at TD Garden. David Pastrnak continues to lead Boston offensively with 26 points across 20 games this season.

Injury updates for Carolina include forward Jesperi Kotkaniemi, who left last Thursday’s game due to a lower-body issue; head coach Rod Brind’Amour described it as not long-term. Defenseman Charles Alexis Legault is expected to miss three to four months after undergoing surgery for lacerated tendons suffered during a game on November 9. Jalen Chatfield remains out under concussion protocol since early November, while Jaccob Slavin continues recovering from a lower-body injury sustained last month.

For Monday’s contest in Boston, Carolina will wear white uniforms.

Following this matchup, the Hurricanes are scheduled to practice Tuesday in Minnesota before facing off against the Wild on Wednesday night.
