The Carolina Hurricanes announced on Apr. 11 that goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov has been assigned to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League for a conditioning stint, according to General Manager Eric Tulsky.
Kochetkov, who is 26 years old, has not played since Dec. 20 due to a lower-body injury. This season, he recorded a 6-2-0 record with a goals-against average of 2.33 and a .899 save percentage in nine appearances with the Hurricanes. Last season, he posted a 27-16-3 record with a goals-against average of 2.60 and .898 save percentage over 47 games, and went on to play four playoff games.
Kochetkov was selected by Carolina in the second round of the 2019 National Hockey League Draft and has played in 125 career NHL games for the team, earning a career record of 71-38-12 with a goals-against average of 2.46 and .905 save percentage. In his American Hockey League career with Chicago and Syracuse, he holds a record of 34-7-4 along with three shutouts.
