The Carolina Hurricanes are preparing to face the Anaheim Ducks, with the line of Sebastian Aho, Nikolaj Ehlers, and Andrei Svechnikov leading the team. This trio has recorded eight points each over the last four games, marking a rare occurrence for the franchise where three players have combined for 24 or more points in such a span.

Noah Philp will be absent from the lineup after entering concussion protocol earlier this week. Mark Jankowski will fill his position, while Jesperi Kotkaniemi remains a healthy scratch.

On defense, Jaccob Slavin is not yet ready to return but participated in practice wearing a regular jersey. Head coach Rod Brind’Amour noted that Slavin is not fully recovered and will rejoin game action once he is at 100 percent.

Frederik Andersen will start as goaltender as he seeks his first win since November 6. Andersen holds a career record of 6-2 against Anaheim but is currently on an 0-7-2 stretch.

The projected forward lines include Svechnikov-Aho-Ehlers; Hall-Stankoven-Blake; Martinook-Staal-Jarvis; and Carrier-Jankowski-Robinson. Defensive pairings are Gostisbehere-Chatfield, Miller-Walker, and Nikishin-Nystrom.

Injuries continue to affect the team: Pyotr Kochetkov (hip surgery), Charles Alexis Legault (hand injury), Noah Philp (concussion protocol), and Jaccob Slavin (upper-body injury) are all sidelined. The scratches for tonight’s game are Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Mike Reilly.

Power play units feature Aho, Ehlers (Staal), Jarvis, Svechnikov with Gostisbehere on PP1; Blake, Hall, Stankoven with Miller and Nikishin on PP2. Jordan Staal takes faceoffs with the first power play unit and remains on ice if he wins it until Nikolaj Ehlers substitutes him when play moves out of the zone.

The Hurricanes play their home games at Lenovo Center in Raleigh, North Carolina. The venue accommodates up to 20,000 people and hosts more than 150 events annually while supporting community growth through partnerships such as NC State University for shared venue use. The team contributes over $200 million annually to the local economy through its events and engagement efforts. More details about their venue can be found on their official website.

As a professional ice hockey organization established in Raleigh since 1997 after relocating from Hartford, Connecticut, the Hurricanes provide sports entertainment to fans across North Carolina (official website). Notably, they won their first Stanley Cup in 2006 (official website).
