Representative Brian Echevarria, a Republican elected in 2025 to the North Carolina State House for the 82nd district, used his social media platform on December 31, 2025, to voice concerns about political accountability and property taxes.

In a post early that morning, Echevarria stated: “I have said for years that our beautiful America has lacked the nobility to jail our political elites. A uniquely wicked few terrorize us, and our system does nothing. We crush low-level low-income criminals, then peacock around as though law and order are served. #ncpol” (December 31, 2025).

Later in the day, he shared a link without additional commentary: “https://t.co/pAcmPy9tTe” (December 31, 2025).

That evening, Echevarria addressed economic issues by quoting economist Milton Friedman: “Milton Friedman: The real tax is what the government spends. Home ownership is a challenge; property taxes shouldn’t force people to sell. Our tax system is intrusive, and homeowners/renters aren’t winning. #PropertyTax #NorthCarolina #ncpol” (December 31, 2025).

Echevarria assumed office after being elected in 2025 to represent North Carolina’s 82nd House district, succeeding Kristin Baker.
