North Carolina State Representative Brenden Jones has recently posted a series of statements on his Twitter account criticizing Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools (CHCCS) over their online content and library materials.

On December 17, 2025, Jones questioned the rationale behind CHCCS linking to third-party websites. In his post, he stated: “Also, let’s put this “third party link” excuse to rest.

So tell me this: if CHCCS linked a porn site on its page through a “third party”, that’s okay by your logic? Give me a break. You’re either ignorant or stupid.

A link is a choice, and CHCCS chose to indoctrinate https://t.co/FgNp8ld3lz

Later that day, Jones addressed the presence of specific books in the school district’s libraries. He wrote: “And if you really want to talk about books that are ACTUALLY in CHCCS libraries, let me show you two of many books that are in their libraries.

Can’t wait to discuss these books at our next hearing with CHCCS! #ncpol https://t.co/BLlBs3oRJZ” on December 17, 2025.

In another post on December 17, 2025, Jones encouraged parents and guardians to report concerns related to violations of SB 49 or sexually explicit materials in school libraries using an official state tip line: “If you have information regarding your child’s school district violating SB 49, or if there are concerns about sexually explicit materials in your child’s library, please report it using the NC GovOps Tip Line below.
