Today, Attorney General Jeff Jackson, along with 51 Attorneys General of the Anti-Robocall Multistate Litigation Task Force, issued warning letters to nine voice service providers. These letters address potential violations of state and federal laws related to the ongoing routing of suspected illegal robocalls through their networks.

Attorney General Jeff Jackson expressed concerns about the impact of these calls, stating, “Unlawful robocalls are a huge hassle for North Carolinians and a popular tool for scammers to steal people’s money and information.” He emphasized the increasing prevalence of these calls across various networks, urging major phone providers to take action against them to protect consumers from scams and fraud.

The task force’s efforts don’t stop at warning letters. They have also communicated their concerns to federal law enforcement partners, including the Federal Communications Commission, to ensure a coordinated approach in addressing the issue of illegal robocalls.
