Today, Attorney General Jeff Jackson shared updates regarding the investigation into PowerSchool’s 2024 data breach. The U.S. Department of Justice has charged Matthew Lane, a 19-year-old college student from Massachusetts, with hacking into PowerSchool’s system. He also extended his gratitude to the prosecutors at the U.S. Department of Justice for their efforts in apprehending Lane. Jackson assured that his office would continue investigating PowerSchool’s involvement in the incident.
