This month, Attorney General Jeff Jackson has been actively engaging with law enforcement communities across North Carolina. On May 1, he held a roundtable discussion in Greenville with over 20 law enforcement partners and conducted a press conference addressing the fentanyl epidemic. During the event, Jackson expressed his support for a proposed $3,000 bonus for North Carolina law enforcement officers currently under consideration by the state legislature.
Attorney General Jackson also led the North Carolina Department of Justice’s annual Peace Officers’ Memorial Day Ceremony to honor officers who have died in the line of duty. He spoke at ceremonies for fallen officers from both the North Carolina State Highway Patrol and Alamance County law enforcement agencies.
Earlier this month, Jackson participated in a sunrise workout with Basic Law Enforcement Training cadets in Asheville. Throughout this year, he has met personally with more than three dozen federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.
