Rep. Allen Chesser, a Republican representing North Carolina’s 25th House district since 2023, announced the North Carolina House’s override of Governor’s veto on House Bill 402 and its subsequent enactment into law in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).
On July 29, 2025, Chesser posted: “Breaking News The NC House has overridden the Governor’s veto of House Bill 402 with bipartisan support! This is a huge win for accountability and transparency in the rule-making process! #ncpol #ncga https://t.co/suKbEZAms8”.
Later that day, he added: “And just like that, House Bill 402 has been officially overridden and is now law. Thank you to my colleagues for your votes, and the public for their continued support for accountability and transparency! #ncpol #ncga https://t.co/WGyknKraKK”.
Two days later, on July 31, Chesser shared another update: “Presided over today’s skeletal session and, in that role, ratified the passage of the mini-budget the NC House voted on yesterday. #ncpol #ncga https://t.co/AlT4w8sZtx”.
Chesser succeeded James Gailliard as representative for North Carolina’s 25th district after being elected in 2023.
